The Green Ossining Earth Day Festival showcases organizations/businesses that best exemplify Green Ossining’s goals & objectives to:
- Provide a forum for those that are concerned about environmental issues.
- Identify ways to promote “green” methods, practices and solutions.
- Explore and prioritize sensible “green” methods, practices and solutions.
- Support efforts to sustain and strengthen the biodiversity of our native flora and fauna.
We showcase organizations, businesses, and services that offer:
- eco-friendly products
- products that are made with sustainably-sourced materials
- products that are made with locally-sourced materials/ingredients – active lifestyle services
- services that promote environmental advocacy
- services that provide/promote energy-efficiency
- community-based service opportunities
We are working hard to grow the opportunities for attendees to learn, engage, and take action at this pivotal time for environmental advocacy that will move us toward a more sustainable future, including: renewable energy solutions, local resilience and the importance of supporting our local economy as well as the organizations that will help toward that, using and wasting less, being more resourceful, and being a more conscience consumer, among other things. We have also added an extra hour to the end of the Festival day to take advantage of the opportunity to gather together: the Festival is now 10a-6pm.

• Eco-demonstrations & hands-on activities
• Focused Kid’s Activity Zone
• Food Foraging
• Environmental advocacy organizations
• Zero-Waste in action on the Festival grounds (where plastics are firmly frowned upon)
• E-Waste Drive/Textile Recycling Drop-Off/Used Instrument Drive
• Local Food including vegetarian and vegan fare
• Craft Beer
• Drum, Discussion Panels and Storytelling Circles
• Local “Green” Services/ Products/Solutions
• Learn about using eco-friendly products & how to save money by reducing your carbon footprint!
• Community Organizations: All existing to help you! Learn more about the variety of groups in our own backyard.
• Teachings and Water Blessings by Native Elder, Nancy Andry (Algonquin/French)
• A Student-Led March to open the Festival
• Live music all day featuring the Mike Risko Band, Fred Gillen Jr., New Breaks, The Fortunate Few, Musicambia, and The Stella Blues Band.
