Event Details

New York City is in a state of crisis. Hundreds of thousands are without a job. New York City’s Black and Brown communities have been hit the hardest by job loss and COVID-19, and we are on the verge of a second shutdown.

While our economy is collapsing, wildfires and hurricanes across the country have signaled that the climate crisis is here. After four years of environmental regulations decimated by the current federal administration, we are on the brink of adding a climate denier to the Supreme Court.

We need an action plan. We need a vision for a just recovery in this time of crisis,  and to address the environmental, racial, and economic injustices within our city. That is why the Climate Works for All coalition launched the Climate and Community Stimulus Platform, a series of green infrastructure projects that will move us towards our climate goals and create 100,000 career track union jobs for New York’s Black and Brown and environmental justice communities.

And with your help, we are ready to debut a comprehensive report, An Equitable Recovery for NYC: Creating 100,000 Climate Jobs for Frontline Communities of Color, which provides a roadmap of what this platform will look like in practice.
