Description:
Solar One is an environmental non-profit based out of New York City with a line-up of programs all aimed of solving issues around climate change in the urban context through engagement and education. Their programs include a Green Design Lab that works with NYC public schools to get environmental education into the classroom; a Green Workforce Training Lab that trains New York City residents in solar and green construction jobs; managing Stuyvesant Cove, a park that provides local educational and community events; and Here Comes Solar, a program aimed at expanding access to solar energy to all New Yorkers–particularly those in historically under-served areas–by offering technical assistance for solar projects. Join us to learn best practices for helping communities tackle climate change issues.
