Event Details

In 2019 NY State passed the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA). Since that time, the Climate Action Council was assembled under the leadership of New York Department of Environmental Conservation with the task of drafting a plan to achieve the mandated greenhouse gas emissions and increase in renewable energy within a framework of climate justice to ensure the transition from fossil fuels is fair and equitable for all NY residents.

The Climate Action Council has released their draft scoping plan and it is now open for public comment. This plan will influence our State’s course of action for developing renewable energy, enacting energy efficiency measures and dealing with the climate crisis over the next 10 years.
