At a time when millions are losing their jobs due to COVID and people are facing evictions and food insecurity, the last thing we need is a $100 annual increase in our gas and electric rates. But that’s what National Grid, a massively profitable British corporation, is proposing.

Making things worse, as California burns and storms are destroying communities in the Midwest, National Grid wants to spend more of our ratepayer dollars on climate destruction!

Despite the fact that York has passed a landmark climate law, National Grid’s rate increase proposal continues its reliance on natural gas, a greenhouse gas. And the company proposes to fund new gas pipelines throughout their territory, including one here in the Capital District!
