This trend is accelerating due to rising energy prices and policies like the NYC Climate Mobilization Act, which cap building carbon emissions and require solar or green roofs on all new construction and major renovation projects. In addition, the HPD Solar Where Feasible Mandate requires solar on Affordable Housing when it’s economically feasible. These policies, along with general increasing demand from clients, make it important for GC’s and other building professionals to understand and incorporate solar into projects.
