The Build Back Better Agenda would help New York and other states across the country respond to the climate crisis; recover from the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic; and invest in Black, Brown, and low-income communities. It could be the most significant climate legislation EVER. With this legislation, Congress can put the whole country on a pathway to 100% clean energy by 2035, devote billions of dollars to environmental justice, and create millions of good-paying union jobs.

It will address the effects of climate change and environmental racism that New Yorkers know firsthand while improving the economy with good jobs. From removing every one of the lead water pipes in the country, to deploying electric school buses to protect our school children from air pollution, the Build Back Better Agenda can make our kids safer and healthier. By reducing the nation’s greenhouse gas emissions, it will address the root cause of the severe storms that inundate the subway, destroy homes, and threaten lives. The Agenda can make our state more resilient in the face of such storms by investing in stormwater infrastructure.
