The City of Beacon has been at the forefront of local climate action. Earlier this year, Beacon passed a local version of New York’s Electric Buildings Act, which effectively bans gas hook ups in new construction and major renovations, after a successful organizing campaign from a local grassroots group, Beacon Climate Action Now (BCAN).

BCAN members will share their story with tips on how to organize and how to leverage local legislation to move New York forward.
