Municipal Electric,
Electricity Coop Informational presentations and a roundtable discussion will increase understanding of the regulations, policies and government incentives that drive investment in energy infrastructure and new technologies as well as maintenance and improvement of existing infrastructure. The discussions will address the impact of NYS policies such as REV and the Clean Energy Standard, the role of the NY Public Service Commission (PSC), Federal reliability requirements, and the unique role of municipal electric and electricity cooperatives in meeting infrastructure needs in the Southern Tier 8 region.
2:30 – 3:30 pm Energy Solutions – Case Studies Michael Barbasch, LaBella Associates
Stuart Bailey, LaBella Associates Energy engineers specializing in innovative energy solutions will present case studies of projects that have been successful in addressing energy infrastructure needs. Topics will include:
Wood pellet fired district heating system; energy efficiency and optimization; and solar + storage.
3:30 – 4 pm Networking Break Attendees opportunity to visit exhibits and network with the presenters and partners.
4 – 5 pm Path Forward NYSEG: Joe Rizzo, Economic Development Program
NYSERDA, Empire State Development, NYPA Representatives from utilities and agencies that offer financial incentives for energy investment will share tips and strategies for businesses and municipalities seeking funding to evaluate or implement energy solutions.
