El 11 de Agosto tendremos un seminario web presentado en español sobre la energía solar en la ciudad de Nueva York. Incluso si no viven en Nueva York o Estados Unidos, los invitamos a unirse y aprender cómo esta ciudad está aumentando su capacidad solar y tratando de apoyar a las comunidades marginadas para que participen.

Este seminario discutirá diferentes iniciativas solares en la ciudad de Nueva York y el trabajo que Solar One está completando en apoyo. Los participantes aprenderán sobre los proyectos solares que se están completando en las escuelas de NYC y en los edificios de la New York Housing Authority. El Here Comes Solar equipo de Solar One presentará sobre la energía solar comunitaria y cómo las personas pueden participar.

This summer Solar One has developed new digital content with the intention of creating a culturally responsive program that centers Black, Indigenous, and People of Color voices in environmentalism. This content is available for free for any community based organization offering youth programs. As part of our new virtual programs we are having our weekly Summer Webinar Series through the end of August.

On August 11, 2020 at 12 pm EDT we will be hosting a webinar in Spanish about the growth of solar energy in NYC with Here Comes Solar. Here Comes Solar is Solar One’s program that facilitates solar adoption in hard-to-serve markets by providing comprehensive technical assistance to building owners so they can identify and implement cost-effective solar projects. Their current programmatic focuses are multifamily and affordable housing, resilient solar (solar with battery backup) and community solar.
This webinar will discuss different solar initiatives in New York City and the work Solar One is completing throughout the city in support. Participants will learn about the solar projects being completed in NYC schools and NYC Housing Authority buildings. The Here Comes Solar team will be introducing community solar and how individuals can participate. Even if you do not live or work in New York City, the webinar will discuss larger issues of environmental justice and an equitable transition towards clean energy that can be applied across communities and cities.
