Event Details

The Carnival is a family friendly event to raise awareness of climate smart initiatives and programs. The Carnival will feature a Repair Cafe, Free Store, opportunities to sign up for community solar and learn about electric vehicles, and other practical information to help us shrink our carbon footprints. Since this is a carnival, visitors can do all this while listening to local bands and enjoying food‐truck snacks. The goal of the Carnival will be to offer pathways to renewable energy, and to provide information about sustainable farming, the impacts of trash, and what many local towns are already doing to lower their carbon footprints. Those interested in more energy‐efficient ways to drive and heat their homes will be able to check out electric vehicles and hear about air‐source and geothermal heat pumps. The Free Store will offer gently used clothes, footwear and children’s items at no charge to anyone who can use them, the goal being to encourage re‐use, not waste.
