Join us for a deep dive into a geothermal heat pump system installed in Central New York!

Located in Auburn, NY is a home that was retrofitted from a fuel-oil and wood burning hot water boiler system to a forced air geothermal heat pump system. The homeowner came to us shortly after purchasing the home to find a way to get rid of their baseboard system, heat more efficiently, produce domestic hot water and add air conditioning.

After first talking to a different HVAC contractor, the family thought that installing ductwork for a forced air system may be too daunting of a task, and out of their budget. Before settling on keeping the baseboard system, they contacted ACES for a second opinion. Our team was able to design a whole-home solution to install ductwork within their 2-story home and also produce 100% of their domestic hot water via geothermal heat pump.

This home now has geothermal forced air heating and cooling with a WaterFurnace 7 Series 5 ton water-to-air heat pump, and geothermal hot water that runs on a 5 Series 2 ton water-to-water heat pump.
