04oct2:00 pm4:00 pmWestchester: March Against Trump's Fracked Gas Pipelines!

Event Details

Donald Trump is trying to force more fracked gas pipelines through New York, claiming that he struck a deal with Governor Hochul to approve them. Hochul is considering three fossil fuel projects that threaten our water, air, and climate: the expansion of the Algonquin pipeline here in Westchester, and two pipelines that the state already blocked five years ago – Williams NESE and WIlliams Constitution. The state is expected to make a decision any day now on the Williams NESE pipeline, which would be built off the coast of NYC. If the state approves the Williams NESE pipeline, it could open the door to approving the Algonquin pipeline expansion and other expensive and unnecessary fossil fuel projects.

On October 4th, we’re coming together to tell Governor Hochul to stop any and all pipelines in Westchester and across New York. We’ll meet at Charles Point Park, which is right across the decommissioned Indian Point Nuclear Center and the spot where the Algonquin pipeline crosses beneath the Hudson River. Then, we’ll march towards the diver at the Riverfront Park. There, we will rally demanding that Hochul stand up to Trump and block these costly projects that endanger our health, violate New York’s climate law, and promote fracking. After our march, we will hand out flyers at the Peekskill Rotary Festival and share action steps we can all take.

Itinerary: 2PM – meet at Charles Point Park 2:15-2:45PM – march along riverfront 3:00PM – rally at diver on the riverfront 3:30PM – hand out flyers at the Peekskill Rotary Fall Festival

Bring a sign, a water bottle, and a friend! March route will be about a mile.
