This webinar will introduce attendees to the key concepts and technologies associated with battery energy storage systems, as well as providing an overview of relevant New York State (NYS) goals, policies, and programs. For this session, NYSERDA is pleased to feature the expertise of Dr. Stanley Whittingham, recipient of the 2019 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and Distinguished Professor of Chemistry at SUNY Binghamton.

The “Battery Energy Storage Systems – Key Considerations for Local Governments” webinar series, featuring presentations from NYSERDA staff as well as external subject matter experts, is intended to provide communities across NYS with the knowledge and resources required to ensure safe and responsible energy storage development.
