Event Details

This September, millions of people will walk out of their workplaces and homes to join youth climate strikers in the streets and demand an end to fossil fuels. Why are we striking? Because science says we have less time everyday to fight climate change. As waters rise and weather tears down homes we must stand up and demand change. Demand 100% renewable energy, demand safer food practices, demand support for community at risk of environmental injustice. Here at Bard it may seem like we are already doing the most to help save the planet, but the truth is we could always be doing more.

Join students and support institutional change by signing up for September 27th Climate Strike. When you sign up for our event you will be added to a list of names ready to demand change on campus. What change? That’s for us to decide. Students have already begun drafting Zero-Waste initiatives for offices, classrooms, and dorms. Together the campus can decide what is best for our next big steps on tackling a changing climate.

To join us find our event on the Fridays For Future website as well as the Global Climate Strike website. Every Friday at lunch our team will meet to discuss what demands we intend to make for the campus. Once you join both of those you can RSVP to the Facebook event as well. Its important to put your name into each resource as it helps tally how many people are really involved, and the more of us that participate the more friends we can bring along.

The group invites any students interested to join and to help plan this event.
