Event Details

If your New York City building is considering a switch to heat pumps, take this updated training, Match Made in NYC: Choosing the Right Heat Pump for Your Building! Learn about the first steps in transitioning from fossil fuel heating, cooling, and water heating systems to heat pumps for energy-efficient commercial and multifamily buildings.

The success of a heat pump installation depends on key early decisions– this training will help you choose the right system, avoid common pitfalls, and develop a strategic plan tailored to your building’s needs. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or new to the field, you’ll discover why heat pumps are the future of building HVAC and water heating and gain the practical knowledge you need to lead an energy upgrade with confidence.

Note: This revised training covers all of the content from an earlier course, Match Made in HVAC: Choosing the Right Heat Pump for Your Building, with additional information about heat pump water heating and a focus on New York City buildings.

By the end of this training, you will be able to:

  • Understand how heat pumps contribute to energy and carbon savings and the benefits of transitioning to them.
  • Describe the pros and cons of different heat pump systems and how they relate to your unique building.
  • Identify building factors and criteria that influence good project decision making for retrofits.
  • Start developing an action plan to evaluate building-specific factors such as size, use, and existing infrastructure.

This training is ideal for practitioners trying to navigate the transition from fossil-fueled systems to heat pump technology in New York City commercial and multifamily residential buildings including:
