Event Details

Experts across industries will share their own sustainability efforts, and share tips on how individuals and businesses can do the same.

About this Event

These days, “sustainability” can feel like more of a buzzword than a tangible practice in the business, design, and fashion worlds. What does it mean to actually incorporate sustainability into a company’s everyday practices and values?

Join us for a New York Design Week panel, hosted by Daly, around the subject of “Thinking green in 2019.” Experts across varying industries will have an open conversation around their efforts to employ tangible sustainability solutions across their businesses that aim to create a lasting impact. They will also share tips on how both individuals and companies can take steps––big and small––towards being more sustainable in their lives and in the workplace.

Our diverse lineup of panelists will include Michael Burkin, Managing Director of the product design firm, Doberman, which is taking measurable steps to reach sustainability “sanity levels” in all their locations; Jessica Marati Radparvar, founder of social change consultancy Reconsidered, who applies the science of behavior change to help companies embed socially responsible thinking into their organizations; Agatha Kulaga, founder of social impact bakery Ovenly, who partners with Getting Out Staying Out and the Ansob Center for Refugees and works daily to integrate sustainable business practices like reducing landfill waste and becoming carbon neutral; and Celine DeCarlo, the Chief Executive Advisor of Mara Hoffman, an environmentally-conscious clothing label that prioritizes natural, recycled, and organic fibers.

The panel will be moderated by environmental scientist Oleha Riden, who is a principal at Vancouver-based MistyWest, a product development agency that uses impactful technology to solve complex problems in their industry.

Hosted by Daly and MistyWest, the panel discussion will be followed by a reception with drinks and snacks to give audience members a chance to mingle with the panelists and others in the crowd! All are welcome to join us for a special, invigorating evening.
