The first module in this training series will provide the basic concepts behind the techniques and systems employed in net zero projects. It will explore using the Passive House building standard as a pathway to achieving net zero performance and the additional benefits associated with successful implementation of those techniques. Energy Use Intensities (EUIs) for existing SUNY New Paltz buildings and the SUCF Net Zero Carbon Buildings and Deep Energy Retrofits of Existing Buildings Directive 1B-2 Site EUI Performance Goals will be presented to put the net zero goals into perspective along with a detailed discussion of the measures that can be applied to new and existing SUNY projects in an attempt to meet its net zero goals including assembling the right team and employing integrated project management.
All participants are encouraged to attend this first workshop in person, but a remote online/webinar option is available.
Length: 4 hours – Coffee begins at 8 AM, workshop begins at 8:30 AM and ends at 12:30 PM.
